Students will organize information into paragraphs and begin to learn how to connect several paragraphs smoothly・ Students will also present speeches they have written on a variety of topics, including people they have interviewed, places they have visited, and explanations of the step by step processes of various activities・ Students will learn that a paragraph should have a topic sentence, supporting sentences and a conclusion. They will have a lot of practice of doing this.・ Students will learn about thesis statements and how to write essay introductions, main body paragraphs and conclusions. Then they will practice by writing short essays on a variety of interesting topics.particular types of essays and then practice by means of writing rough drafts, editing and writing final copies.・ Students will write three to five paragraph essays on self-determined topics in four types: compare & contrast, argumentative, cause & effect , and personal narrative.・ Students will carry out timed writing exercises・ Students will write references in APA style.Returnees’ Course Design and Can-Do List : Writing Course (1 class per week)
